It was a true privilege to tell the story of Fabrizio and Lisa’s wedding day at the beautiful Dimora Casanoja in Noci, in the heart of Puglia.
A wonderful couple from Northern Italy, Fabrizio and Lisa have spent many years building their lives together in Australia, where they both work as architects. Choosing to return to Italy to celebrate their wedding made the occasion even more meaningful.
Being reunited with family after so long, and sharing this special day with lifelong friends, filled the celebration with genuine emotion. There was overwhelming joy, countless smiles, and heartfelt embraces—perhaps accompanied by a quiet sense of nostalgia. I could relate to that feeling, having experienced it myself whenever I returned to Italy while living in Dublin.
Their wedding was intimate, relaxed, and beautifully unconventional. Every moment unfolded naturally, without pretense, allowing real emotions to take center stage. This is exactly the kind of celebration I love to photograph.
My approach is entirely documentary. Rather than directing or staging moments, I focus on observing and capturing the day as it happens, preserving authentic memories with timeless, honest imagery that tells the story of the day exactly as it was lived.
Casanoja is a centuries-old estate, home to two beautifully restored stone masserie surrounded by unspoiled nature. Nestled in the breathtaking Itria Valley, it enjoys a privileged location in the heart of Puglia, just a short drive from both the Adriatic and Ionian coasts.
Only a few minutes from the charming town of Noci, Dimora Casanoja and Masseria Collina are set among ancient oak forests, centuries-old olive groves, and lush Mediterranean countryside. Throughout the estate, the vibrant colours of the Mediterranean landscape blend with the unmistakable scents of wild herbs and native plants, creating an atmosphere of timeless beauty.
The gallery below invites you to experience this extraordinary place and to share, even if only for a moment, in the beautiful love story of Fabrizio and Lisa.
